A GAME OF CARDS

A first foray into the world of directing, I wrote the script based on a short story I heard. It developed into a larger piece, and being a simple two-hander, it was fairly easy to produce. Despite its nostalgia and simplicity, it still delivers two twists at the end, that change the status quo for both ladies.

Synopsis:

A young woman visits a pub land-lady, under the disguise of writing an article about the community surrounding it. Over a game of cards, it becomes clear there is no article being written. As the cover-up questions run out, she is challenged by the older woman to reveal the true reason why she's there.
